Life In A Metro

Location: Delhi Metro
Time: Any Time

I have been living at Delhi for the past 10 years and 14th July marks my 10th anniversary. I have seen Delhi rise from Level 0 to Level 2 i.e. from road transport to metro.

I am here to share what I experienced traveling in the Metro. One instant I remember is that of a couple who was getting a little bit cozy and having the feel in the air-conditioned compartments. But that was not going to be undisturbed. An aunty from behind....in a commanding voice...."Beta bacche hai yaha pe". Arre aunti ji, bacche ab bade ho gaye hai, ab enjoy nahi karenge to fir kya........

At an another situation, I was standing at the queue at Rajiv Chowk station. I was standing at the front. Suddenly an aged person comes and tells me "Beta zara jaldi hai, aage jaane do". Arre uncle ji, itni jaldi ghar jaake kya karoge, wohi roz-roz ki khit-phit sunni hai kya?

Extreme scenes are created at Kashemere gate and Rajiv Chowk. People are so eager to rush in that they don't even care about the persons who need to get down. The person who is a little late in getting down is rushed back in forcefully by the entering people. Then the person thinks "Bhai agle stop pe hi utar jaonga,".

One fine day my friend was waiting for the metro at his usual position-the first compartment. Suddenly he notices a directive "Keval Mahilao Ke Liye". An announcement is made "Ab hamare liye ek aur dabba kab ho gaya. Pehle dibbe ke 100 bando ko baaki 3 dibbo be bhara jayega, Asuvidha ke liye hume khed hai". Pehle kya kam pareshan the jo ye extra julm kiya ja raha hai.

All the good/bitter experiences encountered in the metro are a part of one's life. So have to life with it. I prefer to travel in the last coach of the metro where there is ample space to get your back on. Also I love traveling at the contact points between the coaches whenever I get a chance. It is the best place to travel.

P.S. The views presented are copywright of mukcute. Any resemblence to living or dead is purely coincidental.
